To help you understand Six Sigma, a good place to begin is the roles people play. Goldmark's
Six Sigma training programs prepare your organization's candidates to fulfill the support roles of
Master Black Belt, Black Belts and Green Belts.
While there are traditional responsibilities outlined for these roles, Goldmark can work with your
deployment team to integrate these roles into your business and tailor the training to match.
Champion
- Lead culture change in the organization
- Facilitate the identification and prioritization of projects
- Allocate resources to projects
- Sign up for and 'own' project benefits
- Attend Champion Reviews, remove roadblocks
- Address organizational barriers
- Communicate Six Sigma results, celebrate successes
- Attend Leadership Workshop
Master Black Belt
- Lead culture change in the organization
- Serve as the process and Six Sigma tool expert
- Develop and deliver training
- Manage Black Belts
- Direct and participate in Champion Reviews
- Mentor and certify Black Belts and Green Belts
- Facilitate sharing of Best Practices across departments
- Attend Black Belt training, complete one project (minimum)
Black Belt
- Lead process improvement teams and manage projects
- Ensure sustainable process improvements
- Train/mentor Green Belts
- Communicate project status through Champion Reviews
- Attend Black Belt training, complete multiple projects
Green Belt
- The role is not yet standardized throughout industry
- Unlike the Black Belt, the Green Belt may be dedicated to this role part time
- May lead projects that are smaller in scope or play the role of a support person in
a team led by a Black Belt
- The role of Green Belts is a decision that should be developed early in the
organizationtd's deployment plan.
With Goldmark Consultants, training is supervised by a certified Six Sigma Master Black
Belt (MBB). Inside your organization, the Goldmark Consultant's instructors train Champions,
Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Green Belts working with them in helping to select, scope
and mentor projects.
